Nuneaton Patios

A decent summer deserves a proper outdoor space

When the sun actually shows up, you want somewhere to use it. A well-laid patio makes the difference between a garden you ignore and one you actually spend time in. That is why we take the groundwork seriously.

We cover Nuneaton and the surrounding areas of Warwickshire. A lot of the properties we work on are 1990s Barratt-style estate housing, where the original garden is just compacted soil and a concrete strip. We know what those gardens need.

Materials we work with

  • Porcelain paving, various formats and finishes
  • Indian sandstone, including kandla grey sandstone calibrated 22mm
  • Limestone slabs for a cleaner, lighter look
  • Concrete flagstones where budget is the priority
  • New walling, brick or block
  • Wooden fencing, close board and feather edge
  • Artificial grass and turfed lawns

How a typical installation week runs

Most jobs follow the same basic sequence. Getting this right is what separates a patio that lasts from one that shifts and cracks by the third winter.

  1. Excavation. We dig out to the correct depth for your chosen material and use.
  2. Sub-base. Hardcore is compacted in layers. It takes time (and that is fine).
  3. Bedding. Sharp sand or a cement bed laid to the right falls for drainage.
  4. Laying. Slabs or tiles go down to line and level.
  5. Jointing. Grout or kiln-dried sand brushed in and sealed where needed.
  6. Cleaning. We leave the site clean. Simple as that.

Honest about what we do

We do not cut corners on the sub-base. That is where most patios fail. However, the surface material gets just as much attention. A poorly jointed porcelain patio looks rough inside six months.

We work in all weathers. Nuneaton in February is not glamorous. It rarely is.
