Daventry Patios

Patio installation across Daventry and the surrounding area

Came back from a job in NN11 last summer. Client had tried laying their own porcelain herself. Two weeks in, the whole lot had shifted. Happens more than you’d think.

We mix our own 4:1 sharp sand cement bedding mortar on site. Every time. That ratio matters, and cutting corners on it is exactly why DIY jobs fail.

Right, here is what we cover:

  • Porcelain tiled patios
  • Indian sandstone and limestone slabbing
  • Garden paths and paved areas
  • Concrete flagstone installations
  • New walling and timber fencing
  • Artificial grass and turfed lawns

Clay soil is a problem across a lot of Daventry gardens. It holds water, it moves with the frost, and it will buckle a patio laid without proper sub-base preparation, because the ground underneath is never as stable as it looks from the surface. We dig out to the correct depth, compact the hardcore properly, and lay the mortar bed so it lasts.

Sloping gardens are their own headache altogether. We get a fair few calls from people near the edge of town where the ground falls away sharply. If you do not get the falls right, water pools at the house wall. That is a bad situation, so don’t guess at it yourself.

We work throughout Daventry and the surrounding villages. We know the ground conditions here, the soil types, the drainage issues. It is grand to see a finished job bed in properly over that first winter without movement.

People ask about materials. We work with porcelain, Indian sandstone, and limestone slabs depending on budget and what suits the garden. Fencing and walling we handle too, and lawns whether turfed or artificial.

However we start every job the same way. A site visit, a proper look at the ground, and an honest quote.
