Sunken slabs. That is the most common call we get. A patio that has started to dip, pooling water after every bit of rain, becoming a trip hazard nobody wants to deal with. We relay sunken slabs regularly, and nine times out of ten the original bed was just never put down right.

Porcelain is popular right now because it holds its colour and handles the Irish weather well. But we work with whatever suits the budget and the garden. Limestone gives a softer, more natural look. Sandstone beds in beautifully when it is laid on a decent mortar mix.

How we work

We price the job properly before we start. No surprises halfway through. We source materials locally where we can, and we have used Chadwicks in the past for bulk flags and walling block when we need to move quickly on a job.

And drainage is something we take seriously from the start, not something we think about when there is already a problem. Getting the fall right on a patio makes the difference between a job that lasts and one that needs relaying in four years.

It is straightforward work when it is done the right way. Most people just want a garden they can actually use, and that is exactly what we build.
