Great Wakering Patios
Great Wakering Patios
A bit about how we work
A customer once pointed out our van parked near St Nicholas Church and just waved.
That kind of thing matters to me. We are a local outfit, genuinely rooted in Great Wakering, and most of our work comes from people who have seen a neighbour’s new patio and picked up the phone.
We lay patios that are built properly from the ground up, with good falls for drainage and materials that handle Essex winters without lifting or staining after the first frost.
What we do
- Porcelain tiled patios and Indian sandstone installations
- Concrete flagstone and garden paving work
- Block paving, paths, and kerbed edging
- New fencing and garden walling
- Turfed lawns and artificial grass
The materials and the detail
One thing I enjoy fitting (and I’ll admit I got a bit carried away on one job last summer) is low-voltage lighting integrated into steps, because it makes the whole space usable on a dark October evening.
We talk through the materials with every customer before a single mark goes in the ground. Porcelain is brilliant for low maintenance, however sandstone gives you something warmer and more natural-looking, and some gardens just suit one over the other.
Getting the sub-base right, the compaction, the bedding mix, the jointing, that is where a patio either lasts twenty years or starts rocking loose by year three.
Where we work
We cover Great Wakering and the surrounding SS3 and SS17 postcodes, and most of our enquiries come from within a short drive of home.
