Great Notley Patios

What we do

From the ground up, patio laying is the core of what we do here in Great Notley, Essex. We work with natural stone, porcelain tiles, concrete flagstones and block paving, fitting gardens across the local area to a standard we’re genuinely proud of.

The question of Indian sandstone versus Yorkstone comes up on nearly every job. Both have their place, Indian sandstone gives you warmer tones and tends to suit more traditional gardens, Yorkstone sits better in period settings where the colour needs to feel earned rather than applied.

Materials we work with

  • Porcelain tiled patios
  • Indian sandstone and natural stone paving
  • Liscannor flagstone and concrete flagstones
  • Block paving and garden paths

More than just patios

Patios are the backbone of what we do, but a well-laid patio rarely sits in isolation. We install timber fencing, build garden walling, and lay both roll-on turf and artificial grass. A mortar bed for natural stone is typically laid at a 1:4 cement-to-sharp-sand ratio, with a minimum 75mm compacted sub-base beneath.

That depth matters more than most customers realise. Get the groundwork wrong and even the best stone will shift inside eighteen months, however solid it looks on day one.

Where we work

We cover Great Notley and the wider Essex area. Most of our work comes through word of mouth from neighbourhoods we’ve already worked in, which tells you something about how we approach each job.

We don’t cut corners on preparation, we don’t rush the pointing, and we don’t hand over a finished garden unless it actually looks finished.
