Dublin rain does not forgive bad guttering.

We are based out near the Ninth Lock Road, not far from the Red Cow roundabout, and we cover the whole of Dublin west and beyond. When gutters fail out here, water gets behind fascias fast. We have seen it wreck rooflines that looked fine from the street.

Cast iron versus aluminium

Older properties around D22 often have cast iron guttering. We restore it where we can. However, when it is too far gone, modern aluminium seamless runs are the sensible call. Lighter, no joints to leak, and (this matters more than people expect) we match fascia capping aluminium colour to the existing roofline so the whole lot looks considered rather than cobbled together.

Fascias and soffits

Rotten timber fascias are the main reason gutters pull away. We replace with uPVC board or capped aluminium. Brackets go back at proper spacing. Fall is set correctly. It sounds obvious, but I have fixed more botched jobs than I care to count (and I have been doing this a long time, so that is saying something).

Getting the basics right

Brackets spaced right. Falls set. Outlets clear. Downpipes running clean to the gulley.
