What materials do you work with?

We lay a lot of porcelain and Indian sandstone around Essex, and both suit the local conditions well. The ground here carries a fair amount of estuarine silt in places, so the base work matters as much as the surface. A poorly prepared sub-base will move, and that is that.

Is it just patios you cover?

Not at all. Alongside patio installations we handle garden paths, fencing, walling and lawns. We fit timber fencing properly secured into the ground, lay roll-on turf for a clean finish, and install artificial grass where a lower-maintenance lawn makes more sense for the household.

Do you deal with older, worn patios too?

Yes, and honestly that side of the work comes up more than people expect. Routine maintenance, repointing, re-levelling a sunken slab, clearing drainage channels that have silted over. We see it regularly across CM4 and the surrounding postcodes. Catching problems early saves a fair amount of money later on, (that is just the reality of it).

How do you approach the job?

We take the groundwork seriously before anything goes down. You would be surprised how many problems trace back to what is underneath rather than the surface material itself. A measured, methodical approach on the base means the finished patio sits right and stays right.
